Dell R730xd LFF Dust Filter Holder

This model is for dust covers for a Dell R730xd LFF server.

I do not have any disks in my R730xd, and the server was sucking in alot of dust through the front.
I created this model to hold dust filters, while maintaining a decent looking front.

Note that this is my very first FreeCad model.

I printed this on my Bambu Labs A1 mini using black and a bluegreen PLA, using the default profile for 0.4 nozzle, with 0.2 layer height.

This is a 3 part piece, containing of

• A frame
• A rear grate
• A front grate

You will need to print 4 x of each of these parts (or one per empty bay on your server)

No support required for printing.

Assembly is purly friction fit. No glue required:

• First install the rear grate from the rear on the frame
• Then add some fabric or felt as a dust filter from the front
• Then push the front grate into place

Install into the server with the “larger” lip at the top to cover the top holes.

Alternative models have been provided for alternative front or rear, also a blank for the front has been provided.

Note that the rear grate has the same measurements as the inner rectangle of the front, and can be used as an alternative front grate.
Used like this, will allow the outer part of the frame to show, but can be a nice alternative look.

If you want to make your own grates, the measurements are:

• "Inner" rectangle: 102.5 x 79.5 x 3 mm
• "Outer" rectangle: 108 x 85.5 x 1-5 mm
