Description

Side supports for wooden inner shelf, specifically designed for IKEA KALLAX shelving unit but can actually be used for any other shelving unit.

 

Only left side is provided, mirror it in your slider to obtain the right part.

 

Two heights are provided, a long and a short version. The short version is suitable to hold books (see one of the attached photos).

 

Wooden board dimensions: 33 x 17.4 x 1.6 cm (width, depth, thickness).

 

Each box of the shelving unit width should be 33.4 cm, which should accommodate a board with a 33 cm plus 2 side supports of 2 mm, but actually they all differ from one another by a fraction of a mm. Each wooden board can also have slightly different width.

 

For this reason different models are provided, each with a thickness - at the point of contact with the wooden board - varying from 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm. The thickness of the rest of the part is 2 mm for all of them.

 

The wooden board should slide in the box with the side supports and fit in nicely without too much friction. If it doesn't fit you need to print thinner side supports. Once in place in the back of the box, hold the board with your fingers and try to move it left and right: if it doesn't move then the printed side supports are the right ones, if it moves you need to print thicker side supports.
