Description

This parametric model can be adapted to fit any cupholder/cup combination while remaining support free. I have provided a selection of popular sizes as STL files and print profiles. If a custom size is needed you can either comment the cupholder and cup dimensions and I will upload the resulting model, or you can input your dimensions directly to the Fusion 360 file parameters by following the guide below.

The bottom of the adapter is left hollow, so that it can double as a convenient car-trashcan if desired.

I strongly recommend ABS or ASA if this will be left in the car long-term.

Medium cupholder size based on 2012 Toyota Camry, as it is possibly the most average car.

UPDATE 30 June 2025: Browser-based customization has been added! The instructions below are no longer necessary, but still may be useful for editing other parametric designs.

Instructions for Parametric Editing in Fusion360

  • Download the Parametric Cupholder Adapter.f3d file
  • Open .f3d file in Fusion 360 (File > Open > Open from my computer…)
  • Click “Modify” along top banner

  • Click “Change Parameters” in pulldown menu

  • Update parameters as measured using the guide below

  • Click File > 3d print in the upper left corner
  • With the 3d print menu open on the right side of the screen, click the cupholder body
  • Ensure that the “Send to 3d Print Utility” button at the bottom of the 3d print menu is unchecked, then click “ok” at the bottom of the menu

  • Enable “save to my computer” and then select the folder where you would like the .stl file saved.
  • Click “Save”
  • Open the generated .stl file in Bambu Studio
  • Print with 3 wall loops and 15% infill
