Description

Overview

A travel soap case with drying vents and a removable drying rack. Ideal for preserving the soap and great for keeping a shared bathroom space tidy. This is the third version of the design, and incorporates what I've learned from using the first two versions after using them daily for 7 months. No supports or additional hardware needed.

Feel free to comment suggestions for improvement, and I hope you enjoy this print!

Printing

Presliced file included for ease of printing. Here are some considerations if slicing your own:

Material: PLA, I've used mine for 7 months without issues. Other similar materials such as ABS and PETG should work, too. You can optionally print the feet in TPU.

Layer Height: ~0.12mm, this ensures good resolution and water-tightness.

Supports: None, see included profiles for orientation.

Assembly & Use

See included exploded view for assembly. Feet simply snap on (depending on your printer and material, you may need to scale up the feet slightly or use adhesive--I didn't need this with PLA on an X1C). The rack, too snaps on, it may be easisest to seat in one side then push the other side until it snaps. For the hinge, cut a strand of filament to the width of the hinge and slide in. This may require some force.

The rack can be removed and used on its own to raise soap bar from wet or dirty surfaces. Then, just snap back in when done. The case is not fully waterproof, so it is recommended to drain excess water before closing to prevent unwanted splashing. If interested in a watertight version, please leave a comment and consider liking the model. Happy printing!
