Checkers with travel case board game

Checkers / draughts / dam board game, print-in-place hinges

About

The young ones in my family are now into checkers, so I created this for them. The game board is about 190mm x 190mm (about 7.5" x 7.5"), and doubles as a folding storage box for the game pieces.

Printing

• Game board:
  • The whole board (both halves plus the hinges) print as a single object
  • Print-in-place board hinges: please use 0.4mm nozzle
  • Good bed adhesion and filament required when printing the board
  • Tip #1: slow the initial layer speed to get a nice board surface
  • Tip #2: If you wish to do a test print, you can use my tic-tac-toe board which has the same hinge and snap lid designs: https://makerworld.com/en/models/450846#profileId-357828
• Game pieces:
  • Print two sets of 12 pieces in different colors
• The print profile that I've uploaded has the game board pre-colored for two-color printing

Assembly

• After printing the board, let it cool completely, before gently working the hinge loose.
• The hinge and lid snap will be smoother after some use.
