Foldaway container

About

A 15cm x 8.6cm (5.9" x 3.4") foldaway container that can collapse from ~7.2cm (2.8") to ~1.6cm (0.6") tall.

Ideal for uses such as:

• temporary storage of small objects or parts during a project
• holding shells while eating nuts or seeds like pistachios
• sorting containers

Printing

• Good filament and bed adhesion to print the flat parts.
• The two longer side walls have print-in-place hinges - please use 0.4mm nozzle. No supports required.

Assembly

1. Long side walls: after the parts have cooled, work the hinges loose. Take note the hinges are designed to fold to one side only.
2. Insert the two Short side walls into the Top frame first. You can trim or file the end pins slightly if you find the fit too tight. Take note of the orientation of the walls.
3. Next, insert the two Long side walls into the Top frame. You can trim or file the end pins slightly if you find the fit too tight. Take note of the orientation of the walls.
4. Finally insert the remaining end pins of the Long side walls into the Bottom piece.
5. The folding function will become smoother after some use.
