Description
My SunLu S4 has been great so far but I have an issue where the spools sometimes fall over and jam up the printer. It causes the filament to stop moving and the printer is unable to pull the filament because the spool is sideways in the dryer.
So I made some hot dogs. lol Well they look like hot dogs but they do two things to fix this problem. The first is they relocate the bearings further apart so the spool is less likely to fall over and the second is the sides of the assembly create a guide for the spools to stay centered and run much better than before. Now all of that said I did notice this guide does make the spools sit a little higher than the original configuration but they still spin freely and the now higher center of gravity creates a better flow from the spool to the ptfe holes in the side of the dryer.
Check out a quick overview here
This was created to solve my own problems with the feeding on this device. I will also note that these guides are really intended for normal use of your S4 so they cannot be used with my S4 Multiplier at this time. I'm working on a modification to that floor plate system I have now for the multiplier but it is not ready at this time. Please follow me for more updates as those new plates are available you should get a notification once they're available for download.
As always, happy printing!
