Credits

This glass door seal is inspired by IBW ADDITIVE work, but it is my own model.

Model

I recently started printing high temperature filaments like ASA, and I noticed that my P1S was struggling to keep the fumes and the temperature required inside the chamber.

So I searched for ways to fix this, and I started by making this joint to fill the gap between the door and the printer frame.

This joint is designed to be “invisible” from the outside of the printer, unlike others that stick out from the black strip around the door. That's partially why I decided to make my own.

Printing

Just use the provided print profile for TPU 95A HF, just be careful to print them one after the other to avoid TPU stringing.

Installation

You have two ways to install this joint :

1 - Use 10mm wide, 1,1mm thick 3M tape

Cut strips and put them on the slots on each joint, make sure to have enough length for it to stick well to the glass door.

2 - Use an hot glue gun

The solution I chose to use, because it was easier to remove to test the prototypes. (I also don't have the required tape)

You will only need to install it fast after you applied the hot glue, also be careful to not burn yourself !

Then simply put in place the lower joint, and the top one after it.

Make sure to put them so the part that fill the gap is as close as possible to the door, to ensure it doesn't get stuck when opening and closing it.
