Description

I developed this chip set to replace the standard paper money found in most tabletop games. I can't stand how difficult it is to hold, grab, count, etc. So, I developed these chips as a replacement.

Methodology

A lot more thought went into it than you would think, I wanted to be able to apply somewhat of a universal standard to game currencies, so that I could use the fewest number of chips to encompass the great quantity of games that may need to be improved. This required me to gain a little bit of perspective, and I compiled my findings on the subject into a brief article. Let me know what you think!

Specs

  • They're about the standard size of chips in board games, but I made them all the same size for storage and stack-ability. They are approximately 1.26"D x 0.118"H
  • I started thinking that these would be a good way to teach my kids different mathematical principles one day; so, I made their ring's segments equal to the number they represent.
  • I included Roman Numerals on the back (not just for teaching but also for them to have a ‘heads and tails’).
  • They can be printed in any color; however, they're represented in standard poker chip colors.

What's in a name?

The “Game Changer” name works on three levels:

  1. It encompasses ‘change’ (coins).
  2. It's used for ‘changing’ out (or replacing) paper money in ‘games’.
  3. It truly makes the games better, so it's a ‘game changing’ development.
