Description

Part of the parrot maze puzzle collection. Requires the mount and treat container.

All of the maze puzzles have been tested with Pepper, my faithful African Grey. I imagine they'd be suitable for most medium sized parrots but cannot say for certain; let me know how your bird gets on.

This multicoloured print is achieved by pausing and swapping filaments mid-print. Here's a tutorial as to how if you're not familiar. Once the treat is loaded into the maze it should slide freely along the path just by tilting the puzzle. If it tends to get stuck you may need to file the treat container a little.

Safety

No parrot toy is completely safe. Please observe your bird closely when introducing any new toy. Please use a 'food safe' rated plastic (e.g. PLA and PETg) but more importantly ensure your bird does not chew and swallow the parts of this toy. For additional safety do not leave this toy in the cage for extended periods of time. I cannot take responsibility for any injury when using this maze or its associated parts.

Setting Up

Add a few treats into the treat container and tightly plug the end with some tissue or shredded paper. This will ensure the treats do not spill out if the container falls to the bottom of the cage. Load the treat container into the maze and it is ready for your bird.

When you first introduce these puzzles to your feathered friend you can move the prize close to the maze exit. This will help your parrot learn and understand the objective.

Printing

No supports necessary. I use five perimeters for additional strength and low infill (5%) to save filament.

The threads to the cage mount can be tricky to establish, use anti-elephant's foot measures to aid this.

Filament

Made with Filamentive's excellent recycled plastics
