Description
I have been running a home lab for a long time, at first I had a large server rack, then I moved to minimal move which was a pull-out draw and scattered cables. I missed having a server rack, so I started designing my own miniature half rack.
Then out came the GeeekPi 8U, which made me do a Google search then find someone who had already been where I have been and has already designed a nice 3d printable rack system. So I started building that 3d printable rack system, and it was pretty cool, but I noticed a few little things where missing from their designs.
The first being convenient carry handles for moving around the rack, so I decided to design some myself. All credit of the original design goes to McBig for his awesome design, really solved an issue I was facing, this is a Remix of his shelf tops to have carry handles similar to the GeeekPi 8u.
One thing I will say that is of importance is that, this will only work with a rack that is glued together. To keep it expandable, when I have the draws installed I glue the upper half of the rack together, and leave the bottom unglued. Of course when moving it, the bottom legs fall off, but that's not a major issue and can just be put back in place. But this way it is expandable and can be made taller by simply adding more lower legs keeping the top solid.
