Description

This desiccant drybox system is for the original AMS (not the AMS 2 Pro), but it also works perfectly with the AMS Hydra Mod. It fits perfectly and the volume is larger than in other versions. Some versions support a Hygrometer. This is the Hygrometer I use: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0BKZXFDVX. 

Each drybox holds around 100g of silica. I have had great luck with this desiccant: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013L31PQ0?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Various elements of this project were transferred from Printables.com to Maker World from the links provided below.

 

Directions for how to install the desiccant canisters into the spool are provided in the pictures. The print includes two variations: The Cog Canisters and the Spiral Canisters. The Cog Canisters just slide into spools and are perfect for long-term storage to keep filament dry on the shelves. Spiral canisters lock into filament spools and hold up better to lots of movement (perfect for inside the AMS). Both work well and come down to a matter of preference.

 

*Enclosed AMS trays: Must be printed from the app for the back opening to show up. Downloading the file erased the negative “no print areas” for some reason. If you have this issue, this should resolve it!

V1-4 = Lost to the sands of time.

V6 = Now includes Desiccant Canisters for the Filament Spool!

V7 = Now with reinforced canisters, faster printing time, and increased filament efficiency. Also includes drybox that supports hygrometer with “12&6” tabs.

V8 = Now with double-reinforced dry boxes, “Full Set” print profiles for 11&5 Hygrometer tabs, 12&6 Hygrometer tabs, and No Hygrometer dry boxes. V9 = Universal hygrometer dry box introduced to avoid hygrometer tab issues and custom filament desiccant canisters that lock into place, all with efficient print profiles with .28mm layers.

V10 = Universal hygrometer dry box, enclosed AMS trays, custom spiral canisters that lock into filament spools, re-introduction of long-term storage cog canisters to keep filament dry on the shelves.
