FridgeDarts - A fridge magnet that is a darts game

A decorative fridge magnet that doubles as a game of darts

Please at least read the sections of the description highlighted red to ensure that the game can be assembled and works

Materials

The model has been specifically tailored and tested with this set of 5mm diameter by 2mm thick magnets

The MakerSupply magnets would also hypothetically work but I have not tested them with the model

You will also need some form of glue (preferably superglue or any other strong forms of adhesives)

Instructions and Notices

!IMPORTANT HEADS UP FOR THE GAME TO WORK!

When throwing darts onto the board with the 5x2 magnets, a singular magnet on the tip of the dart may not have enough attraction to stick to the board after hitting the board.

To resolve this, simply add another piece of 5x2 magnet ontop of the tip which increases the attraction enough to stick to the board.

Two pieces of magnets

If it still doesn't stick properly, try throwing it with less strength and distance, or substitute the magnets with stronger ones.

Printing without AMS (UNTESTED & USE AT YOUR OWN RISK)

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to print this magnet in one go with AMS; however, I have included plates for printing each of the colors separately with 99% scaling for clearance when assembling but they HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED.

If you choose to print this without an AMS, you may need a paper sheet on the back to hold together the thin colored pieces together. Try to keep area where the darts are supposed to stick as thin as possible so the magnets can adhere to the fridge.

I am not responsible if the print is not able to be assembled but always feel free to provide feedback and comments to help out people printing without AMS

Before printing

• DO NOT turn off ironing if you are printing with AMS for better color saturation (you can turn this off if you're printing separately)

• DO NOT change layer height, if you do, it is best to ensure that the thin crust of the target area remains below 0.4mm thick so that the magnets on the darts can hold on to the fridge. (I have not tested any thickness slightly above 0.4mm but have tested 1mm thick and IT WILL NOT WORK)

After printing and assembly

Both sides of the Amazon magnets will stick to the fridge (feel free to verify it yourself)

• Fill and glue in all 20 holes on the dartboard with 5x2mm magnets
• Dabble some glue on the center of the 5x2 magnet surfaces and place the darts on the center of the magnet
  • You may need to add extra glue to increase the contact area between the magnet and the dart
  • Be careful not to get glue on the other side of the magnet

Usage

• The dartboard has a strong hold to the fridge and can be used to clamp anything relatively heavy to the fridge
• The darts can serve as small clamps for any single pieces of paper
