Description
The concept:
Despite all the good designs for battery storage here on Makerworld I decided to contribute with my design. I wanted to use a different approach. Something simple that is not bulky, like a box or a container. That can go in your pocket or the corner of the overcrowded drawer. So, with these ideas in mind, I designed the battery clip.
The result:
Open frame clip style battery organizer. The batteries are secured in place with holding clamps. It was tough to design the tension clamp with the right size, shape and clamping force due to the industry's “loose” dimensions standard. With its open frame, you can see what batteries are there and pull out/push in them with ease. The small footprint and low profile allow the clip to go into any pocket and take minimum storage space. The divider can be moved between batteries to visually separate charged from uncharged batteries. Last, but not least the open ends of the clip allow for easy measuring with a multimeter.
Printing tips:
Use only PETG or other materials with good elasticity! PLA has bad elasticity and the clamps will lose their tension after a while.
