Description
I decided to make this model initially as the drawer set to store the specific set of drivers shown. Partway through modeling, I decided it would be great to also have my caliper able to sit on a stand attached to it. The caliper stand could be replaced with whatever you feel like just by modeling off of one of the provided step or stl files. There is also a blank drawer file so that you can adapt that model and either make just an open drawer, customize it with compartments or other tool layouts, or honestly whatever you feel like.
The case model is large…by large, I mean it probably won't fit on your print bed. I ended up cutting the printing of the model into six pieces (NOTE: This was because I couldn't make the supports work properly in a deep cavity without either fully bonding them so they were basically not removeable or having the far corner of the overhang lift off and cause a head crash, if you can resolve that you can just print it in two pieces) in order to print it and I printed it on my Qidi X-Max 3. It is possible to scale it down but that modeling work would be up to you.
I printed mine in ABS since I was having problems with my PLA printing and the weather (it was hot and humid so I couldn't get the PLA to cool enough and it was basically remaining in a flexible state while printing so there were delamination issues and other problems). It would likely print quite well in PLA and I'd love to see someone print it if only to see the cleaner lines but also color combinations would be cool.
Well, that's about it, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
