Basic Wind Turbine

August 18, 2024
Description
A basic wind turbine design that can produce enough electricity to power a small LED light.
I managed to print all of the parts on a stock Ender 3 using PLA, so it should print just fine on any printer out there.
How to print:
- Material: PLA, PETG, ASA
- Layer Height: 0.16 - 0.2mm depending on how well your printer handles overhangs
- Infill: All parts but the rotor blades should be printed with 30% infill, the rotor blades should have 30% at the base and 5% from where the blade starts
- No supports are needed
Parts needed:
- x3 Short M3 Screws
- x1 24mm DC Motor with a 2mm shaft
- x1 32mm PVC Pipe
- x1 15x32mm Bearing
How to assemble:
Assembly of the rotor and the motor holder.
All parts should press-fit togheter after using a bit of force.
Final assembly.
Main_Back requires x3 M3 screws in order to properly attatch to Main_Hub. All other parts should press fit.
I would highly recommend gluing of the press-fitted parts togheter so that the turbine can withstand stronger winds.
