I find alot of 3d printed art can look cheap and plasticy, so i set out to design something I would be proud to have in my home. These three wave patterns represent water in different stages of motion, and I love how they turned out.

 

Colors Used

• Bambu Matte Dark Blue PLA
• Bambu Matte Marine Blue PLA
• Bambu Matte Ice Blue PLA

Frame:

This model is designed to fit into an IKEA RODALM 8x10 Inch (20x25 cm) frame: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/roedalm-frame-white-70548893. It fits very well inside, and I use a little superglue to secure it to the back. It could be quite easily resized to fit other frames, or displayed standalone.

 

Print Settings

• These are quite easy to print, and should work with most printers & settings. However I do recommend a few tweaks:
• Low layer height to improve model quality. I use 0.12mm
• Seam position: back (it will be hidden under the frame)
• Infill density: low (I use gyroid 4%, This model does not require much infill - though i recommend some to avoid heat warping)
