Description
This is my original design for an infinitely stackable planetary gearbox, designed with inspiration from @BrentPeterson!
I love his designed, but wanted to make my own take on it.
This gearbox is designed to be easily assembled, but in a different manner than brent's launcher.
You do need some 10 mm M3 bolts to hold the different stages together. For a 1:64 gear conversion, you need a maximum of 9 bolts.
Another important thing to remember is to print the propeller with a 0,08 mm layer height, because of the steep overhangs :)
If the gears come off the build plate a little stuck, just use some force to rotate them so they spin freely.
Optional
You can use lubricant to make them rotate smoother if you want to :)
Note: it's much easier to assemble than what the pictures make it look like.
First you put the carrier on top of the gears like this by using the small hex connector
Then you stack another stage onto the first one
You need to stack the other stages apart from the first two from the bottom because of the way the screws hold them together. The large hex connector goes on the very top of it.
Screw on the lid and snap in the smart launching cap. Then place in the handle at the bottom through the three gears, and you're done!
You can also put on the lid first before connecting the other stages to hide the screws, but thats up to you.
