SM64 Whomp's Fortress Model- Dice Tower (No AMS)

Like many of you, I adore SM64, and I personally always had a soft spot for Whomp’s Fortress, particularly climbing the tower at the top. As one of the first thing that springs to mind whenever I hear the word “Tower”, it was only a matter of time before I added the word “dice” to it.
So, here’s my whomp’s fortress dice tower, who’s platforms and floors can double as a fancy dice display when it’s not in use. To roll, simply ‘uncork’ the top by removing the pillar/pyramid rooftop feature and drop your dice straight inside. I’ve printed an even number of short and long shelves for accuracy to the game but they are fully interchangeable so you can mix and match.

Print info:

Printed at 0.2mm with a 0.4mm nozzle. No AMS required as each piece prints separately and slots together.
Requires supports. I had to use a mix of support types to get it to print nicely as the overhangs need supporting but the brickwork does not, so I’ve outlined what I think is the best setup below. 90% of the supported faces are covered once you’ve assembled. My print profile also has all these supports preset.

Baseplate: No supports

Main tower: Tree supports (automatic)

Large/ small platform: No supports

Red ring: Normal supports (manual). Set these to the underside of the octagonal overhang. Tree supports do not support this well, and normal automatic supports try to support the brickwork which is not necessary.

Top floor: No supports

Square pillar: Tree supports (automatic)

Pyramid: Tree supports (automatic). Or no supports if you have good bridging.

I used five colours as I happened to have two greys lying around but the baseplate and top floor can be the same grey very easily.

Assembly info:
Print all the parts including six of the ‘moving’ platforms (I did three of each but it’s up to you). Simply slot it all together as per the images on this listing. A little dab of superglue on all the connections makes it secure long- term, but make sure you leave the square pillar unglued from the top floor piece, as this is intended to be removable to roll dice.
