This model can be customized online to make a box and fitted lid of virtually any size. The box’s interior can be optionally divided into compartments of equal size. An inlaid text label can be added to the cover. Colors may be specified by the user.

Printing tips. Based on my experience with this parametric box, here are some hints about choosing parameters:
- Wall Thickness — I usually use the default (2), but it can be as thin as 1.6
- Lid Extra Thickness — I usually add 1 mm to make lid easier to remove
- Lid Ridge Height — Smaller values make the inside ridge protrude less, but the lid will not hold as well
- Lid Fit Gap — Default 0.1 is on the loose side; try 0.05 for tighter fit; experimentation may be required for the desired fit
How to generate a colored text label:
- Click ”Generate Label” under Customizer’s “Lid Label” section
- Enter desired text label and parameters
- In Bambu Studio or other slicer software, split the model into PARTS, not objects—this keeps the lettering embedded in the lid
- Assign a filament color to all parts corresponding to the individual letters, usually all but the first two parts listed
How to split labeled box into 3 colors in Bambu Studio (only necessary for STL files):
- Clone one copy
- On one clone, split to OBJECTS and delete all objects except box bottom
- On other clone, split to PARTS and delete the part corresponding to box bottom
- Assign filament colors to box bottom (an object), lid (a part), and lettering (multiple parts)
- Global > Others > Special mode > Print sequence > By object
- Arrange objects so they don’t overlap on the same plate; alternatively, skip Step 5 and print objects on separate plates
Update 10/3/2024: Added optional compartment divider(s) and support for user-specified colors.
