FingerTwister: A Mini Version of a Classic Game

Twister, the game that made everyone twist and turn in all sorts of hilarious ways, first burst onto the scene back in 1966. It quickly became a beloved favourite, blending physical challenge with social fun. Fast forward to the 90s, and MB decided to give Twister a fresh twist with some exciting updates. This new version introduced an air move, where players had to keep a hand or foot in the air, and a spinner option that let the one spinning the spinner choose the colour for everyone to move to. These updates took the classic game to a whole new level of fun and challenge.

 

Now, FingerTwister takes the essence of that classic game and scales it down to a compact, finger-"friendly" version. This miniaturized twist offers all the playful interaction and challenge of the original Twister, but in a format that's perfect for small spaces and quick fun. Whether you're at your desk, hanging out with friends, or just looking for a unique game to show off, FingerTwister is sure to bring laughter and a bit of friendly competition to any setting.

 

How to Play FingerTwister

Playing FingerTwister is just like the original Twister but with a twist, literally! Instead of placing your hands and feet on coloured spots, you'll use your fingers. The game retains the same challenge of following the spinner's instructions, but it’s all about finger placement now. FingerTwister brings the fun and challenge of the classic game into a tiny format, making it surprisingly tricky and fun.

 

Game Rules for FingerTwister

1. Set Up the Game: Place the FingerTwister matt on a flat surface where everyone can reach it comfortably
2. Decide on Hands and Fingers: Before starting, decide how many hands and fingers each player will use. This should be set for the entire game
3. Choose the Spinner: Determine who will spin first, or whether you want a dedicated spinner. This person will also be responsible for calling out the colours and moves
4. Spin the Spinner: The spinner will spin the wheel to select a colour and a move
5. Follow the Instructions: Based on the spinner’s result:
   • If the spinner selects a colour, all players place the designated finger on the corresponding colour spot
   • If the spinner selects an "air" move, players must lift the designated finger (or fingers) off the board and hold it in the air
   • If the spinner selects “T”, the spinner can choose which colour the players should move to
6. Maintaining Position: Players must ensure that only the fingers chosen by the spinner are in contact with the board. No other fingers or body parts should touch the board. Also, players must keep contact with the colour they’re assigned to. Losing contact with the colour means you’re out of the game
7. Winning the Game: The game continues until only one player remains who can keep their chosen fingers on the correct colour spots while following the spinner’s instructions. The last player remaining in the game wins!

FingerTwister Model Details

Now, let’s talk about the model itself. FingerTwister comes with four different print profiles, each offering a unique colour setup:

• 0 AMS - 1 colour:
  • Print without AMS. Use a permanent marker or similar to colour the spots on the board
• 1 AMS - 4 colours:
  • Print with 1 AMS. One of the colours will be the same as the base (white), and the black colour on the spinner is replaced with red
• 1 AMS - 6 colours:
  • Print with 1 AMS. All colours as designed
  • Includes pauses for manual filament changes:
    • Plate: Matt: Switch the white filament to red manually when the printer pauses
    • Plate: Spinner board:
      • Pause 1: Switch the white filament to red and the black filament to orange manually when the printer pauses
      • Pause 2: Switch the orange filament to black manually when the printer pauses
    • PS: When you change the active filament, be sure to manually purge the remaining filament before pressing "Resume print." to ensure the best print results
• 2 AMS - 6 colours:
  • Print with 2 AMS. All colours as designed
