Mortal Kombat is a fighting video game series created in 1992 by Ed Boon and John Tobias for Midway Games that has spawned several sequels for consoles, computers, and arcades. Following bankruptcy, the video games have been developed by Boon's NetherRealm Studios since 2011, then the brand was acquired by Warner Bros., a union that also gave a push to officially bring the various characters from the cinematic universe into the series via DLC, as well as a title starring DC Comics characters.
