I used flament (Ø1.75mm) for merging the chains. You may need upsetting operations for flament tips to solid assembly. But it is not necessary. It won't get lose easily.

Upsetting: You can squize of filament tips with a hot knife's flat surface after assembling. To do that the filament length must be biger than (2 mm) strap wide.

If you are having trouble with assembling you could arrange from X-Y hole compensation. (for lose or tight fit)
