Update Dec 2025: A new and improved version of this model is available here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2136283-improved-sliding-outlet-cover
Sliding box cover for wall outlets, providing enough space for slim plugs to be plugged in and have their cords come out the bottom. The flat wall piece fits behind your outlet's wall plate, requiring no modifications to your wall or outlet to install as long as you have a somewhat standard outlet cover plate. The provided files are made to fit the ~70mm x 112mm outlet covers I have, and provide room for plugs that stick out less than 34mm from the wall.
You will probably need to customize this to fit your outlet wall plate. Thanks to Makerworld's new support for Fusion files (July 2025) you can customize this directly in your browser without needing to download Fusion! Old instructions are below for posterity:
I've included the F3D file so you can customize it to match whatever size wall plates and plugs you have. Open it in Fusion 360, and the relevant dimensions are documented and can be customized in the User Parameters. For more information on how to do this, see the “Edit a Parameter” section here: https://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=SLD-MODIFY-CHANGE-PARAMETERS
Remove the wall plate and position the printed wall part behind it as show in the pictures. Replace and screw in the wall plate as normal. This should anchor the wall piece solidly against the wall with minimal wiggle-room. The box piece should then slide in with a small amount of force (make sure you line up all four dovetails at the same time). You can also install the cover upside-down if you need the opening on the top instead of the bottom.
