Description
I designed this refrigerator magnet specifically for the “Games of the 90s” contest, because there can be no discussion about games of the 90s without talking about Sierra. If you know, you know.
Police Quest was the first Sierra game I bought and played on my PC. My (now) wife and I would stay up long hours playing, taking notes, and generally having a good time. At some point during that play through I said, “I'm going to be a gamer for the rest of my life” - maybe not those exact words, but close.
Since then, my passion for gaming has crept into both my children, and now into their children. During that time, we gamed through national campaigns that have tried to ban computer games because of the “bad influences” they've had, and during that time, we bonded and grew closer as a family - with the help of those same games. Gaming has been such a positive influence on myself, my family, and their families - and it all started for us with Ken, Roberta, and Chris - through their games and newsletters (yes, they used to publish and send out a newsletter).
This model uses 3 5mm x 3mm magnets such as those listed in the BOM. Originally I had used 1 larger magnet, but the model required support to print, so I changed it to these which do not require support.
After printing, insert magnets into holes on back. The holes are just a bit deeper than the magnets, so use something to push them all the way in so that they bottom out. This will allow them to be counter-sunk a bit so that they don't actually make contact directly with the metal surface that they attract to, preventing scratches on your nice appliance surfaces.
Boost MeIf you have similar fond memories of Sierra games, why not print this out, stick it on your fridge, and smile when you see it?
