Description
Here is an original box inspired by Origami doors by designer Klemens Torggler.
This model is very easy to print and requires no other additional parts.
It was designed so that the hinges are completely integrated into the model while still functioning smoothly.
The assembly has been designed to be very simple: You only need a piece of filament for the hinges and a little super glue to stick the caps on the axles.
Note:
The profile hinges have a tolerance of 0.1 mm. You can test this tolerance by printing the first plate of the ‘R3 L3 tolerance’ profile. If the pin does not fit, use the R3 and L3 parts from this profile instead of those from the original profile.
The gold model in the photo was printed with the fuzzy skin option (point distance 0.3, thickness 0.1). The published profile does not include these parameters: The walls are perfectly smooth.
Assembly instructions:
Place the box upright on the edge of a table. Place the doors on the box in the fully open position and insert a cap on the axle.
insert a small piece of pre-glued filament into the hole in the cap, then cut it to size.
Make sure the doors can rotate freely
On the left door, put a drop of glue in the hole which will receive the axis of the handle
Close the right door and insert the handle
