Description

The AGM-114 Hellfire is a versatile, precision-guided air-to-ground missile widely recognized for its effectiveness and reliability. Developed initially in the 1970s for anti-armor operations, it has evolved into a multi-mission weapon system used by over 30 nations globally.

This high-detail model of the AGM-114 Hellfire Missile is designed with precision and realism in mind, ideal for military enthusiasts and 3D printing aficionados. It measures approximately 18 inches from end to end. The model is broken down into several parts for optimized printing and assembly, resulting in a highly detailed final product.

Model Breakdown:

  1. Main Body (3 Parts):
    • The body is divided into three main components to allow for manageable printing on standard FDM printers while retaining fine details.
    • Designed with interfacing features for easy assembly and precise alignment.

  2. Umbilical Connector:
    • A separate part for ease of printing.

  3. Two Hangars:
    • The mounting hardware used to secure the missile to aircraft or launch systems.

  4. Three Colored Rings:
    • These rings represent the missile's identification bands. Use contrasting filament or paint them post-print to match their real-world counterparts.

  5. Seeker Dome:
    • The nose of the missile, which houses the laser guidance system. For clarity and durability, it’s recommended to print this component in PETG or another transparent material, capturing the distinct look of the real seeker dome.

Assembly:
The model is designed for seamless assembly with minimal post-processing. After printing, parts can be sanded, painted, and glued if desired, but with a matte filament for the body it looks great without all that.
