Star Fox Arwing Kit

Hello!

I used to play Starfox as a kid growing up and the Arwing allways struck me as one of the coolest looking spaceships of that time.

So I decided to remake it to relive my childhood!

The design is inspired of course by the 90's look but with a bit of a modern twist to it.

It could be classified as low poly but i think that would be doing it a disservice since the original design is so iconic and pointy.

The whole model doesn't require an AMS and is easily assembled with some superglue.

It is designed with minimal filament waste in mind.

I had to split the model in half and the blue engines as well as the black cockpit.

If somebody really wants it I can add an AMS profile but beware that would take at least a day to finish printing and waste a ton of filament in the proces…

The wing span is around 190mm and the total lenght is about 204mm, the stand is around 100mm tall so everything together is about 150mm tall.

While performing the cuts in bambu studio, I had to get rid of some extra part of the model from the blue triangles, I removed them by adding negative bodies and placing them so they cover the excess triangle:

Print settings:

• 0.4mm nozzle
• 0.16mm layer height
• 15% gyroid infill
• Ironing on top surfaces!!! (For smooth finish on the wings)
• Use preferably white, blue and black filament but not necessary!

Assembly guide:

1. Print all the parts and sort them out (IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE TO LET THE MAIN BODY COOL FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES AFTER FINISHING THE PRINT TO AVOID BENDING OF THE MAIN BODY)
2. Make sure to first check which blue engine fits into which part of the wing (I used bambu studio for slicing and it doesnt offer symetrical insertion of the plugs). You can be sure you have the correct ones in the correct holes if both of the wings align correctly and are parallel to each other and the lenght gap is non existant.
3. First glue the triangle engines into the split bodies and let them dry for a couple of minutes
4. Snap the cockpit with a touch of superglue into its place
5. After that insert the 4 aditional plugs into the coresponding holes in one of the cut parts of the main bodies while also applying some super glue to it.
6. Aply more glue onto one of the surfaces of the main body and connect them together and press them firmly and hold them for a minute or to and let the glue dry.
7. Place the ship on the stand and thats it! :D

Note: I will be adding a different profile with a better snap fit option, with the current one i think i applied to big tollerances. In that profile no or at least minimal glue should be used. I won't have time to sadly test the profile out so make sure to leave me a message or comment if you decide to take that profile!

Added A1 mini print profile, made the whole model a bit smaller so it fit into the buildplate. If you have any issues with the print please let me know so I can fix them!

Added print profile with mouse ears for people with bed adhesion issues for the wings and fron piece of the Arwing!

Fixed A1 mini profile cockpit and stand scale all parts are 85% now
