Description
This is an adapter for a spotter scope to let you look through the lens via your mounted phone instead of leaning into the scope to look. It threads onto the scope itself and is very secure, while still allowing you the ability to adjust the zoom while using it. The intended use is for the shooting range and hunting.
NOTE: There are 4 eyepiece models. the reason is to allow the holes for zooming adjustments to be where you want them to be. What worked best for me was the -90 degree version. It allowed me to zoom with my left hand while being able to see the current effective zoom value. It was also important for it to be to my left because it would be on my right while I'm shooting. Threading may or may not work the same for everyone, so I included every 90 degree permutation of the threading placement for everyone to use what suits them best.
I designed this specifically for my zflip 6 phone and its silicon ring case, however, the phone sled part is threaded onto the eyepiece and so it is very easy to make it work for any phone.
To make this work for your phone & case, simply use the “thread for phone sled” model provided and put it in a phone sled such that the center of the model aligns with the center of the camera you want to look into the scope. If you do so, please upload it for others. If I end up making sleds for other phones, I'll update here, but my needs have been met for now.
My spotter scope is the Pèlerin Faucon 70 25-75x70 mm Scope. It's nothing too fancy, so i think other spotter scopes will work similarly, as long as the threading on the eyepiece matches up. If it doesn't match up, try switching out the thread from the eyepiece with a “spotter scope eyepiece threading” model with varying ‘z’ scaling until it fits. I would recommend printing this piece separately first to see if it fits before printing the full eyepiece. If you do need to scale up your “spotter scope eyepiece threading” to get it to fit, i provided a “spotter eyepiece without adapter thread” model for you to attach your threading to.
I'm happy to help if there are any questions. Enjoy!
