Description

model of the german jet fighter from WW2 in 1:72 scale

About aircraft

The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the world’s first operational jet-powered fighter, developed by Germany during World War II. Introduced in 1944, it was significantly faster than any Allied aircraft, with a top speed of around 870 km/h (540 mph), powered by two Junkers Jumo 004 turbojet engines. The Me 262 was primarily designed as a fighter but was also used in bomber and reconnaissance roles. Its armament included four 30mm cannons, making it a formidable adversary, especially against Allied bombers.

The Me 262’s advanced technology represented a leap forward in aviation, but it arrived too late to alter the outcome of the war. Despite this, it had a lasting influence on post-war aircraft development.
