Megaminx Puzzle Sphere

This 272 pc 100% 3D printed Megaminx puzzle is based on the Calvin Traiphum puzzle sphere and to answer your question, YES this rubix cube style sphere has 12 fully movable hemispheres to mix up all the colors💥 1 unvigintillion possible combinations to solve! Thats right you though a rubix cubes 43 quintillion possibilities was a lot? now add 49 more zeros to that number! CRAZY!🤯

This print is by far one of the largest in terms of number of pieces and difficulty I've undergone and now that its finished, I want to share it with you and the rest of the community. This print is definitly for the more advanced croud that loves a challenge and on top of that a practically infinite amount of puzzle solving once fully built to solve time and time again. Please enjoy the hard work and dedication I've put into this art piece of a puzzle and print out the stand to display it on your shelf as well. If you're a Star Wars fan and feel like this puzzle looks familiar then you'd be right because this model was derived from the Starmap sphere used in the Ahsoka series that the prop designers actually used a Calvin Traiphum megaminx puzzle for the shows prop! That prop model is posted to my uploads and also comes as a 100 pc fully functional puzzle!

Disclaimer: Small parts may be choking hazards. Keep out of reach of small children!

Once all the wedge pieces are printed they may be snapped together with the wedge pins totalling 30 fully assembled components that can be installed on the puzzle and color tiles added. Use Glue if you so desire if the pins don't seem to hold the pieces together but they should work with or without glue.

Glue IS required for the colored tiles however during install and utilize the gif animation to determin best color layout with black being on the bottom in the title gif. Or you can go crazy and put the colors anywhere you want in any order so long as they stay with their center cap color otherise it may not be solvable if placed randomly😅

IMPORTANT

In order to save time and filament purge I suggest using my “print by object” sliced file for the colored tile prints. Changing out the 4 colors of your AMS two more times to have a full set of 12 colors that print quickly by object with little filament purge.

For the 12 center pcs and 20 triangle pieces that require supports I suggest a nice square tipped exacto-knick to push down on one side the the support and pry upwards had great success in cleanly removing the support material without any remnants left.
