Description
Print your own shoulder and wrist armor! These bracers and articulated pauldrons are comfortable and easy to print. Included in the model are TPU straps to connect the armor pieces together. For the main pieces I used PETG, except for the emblem on the bracers which is silk PLA. The orientation is optimized for a smooth surface finish. Note you may need to resize this to fit you, it was designed for myself (5' 10", 155 lbs). I recommend printing the smallest piece of the pauldron and trying it against your arm. The narrowest section is 3.75" / 96 mm. You can slice the bracer and just print a portion if you want to check that sizing. The narrowest section is 2.3" / 59 mm. Note that you should resize the straps proportionally to the armor (you may need to use two different sizes for the shoulders and for the bracers).
Here is how to connect the TPU straps. I included two designs, a normal one and a looser one. Try them and decide what works for you. The connectors are printed with support by default, you may disable it if you are confident in your overhangs. I find them easy to remove with a flush cutter on TPU regardless.
Assemble the pauldrons from the largest section to the smallest, slightly squeezing the smaller sections to fit the pegs into the holes. To wear the pauldrons I typically leave the connection across the chest open, but both arms and the back closed. Then insert your arms through the arm loops and put the back strap over your head. Lastly you can fasten the front strap.
