Description

Remix of br1acc's Quick Swap Filament Label for Bambu Reusable Spool. Added some additional tags, changed the font, and added a new mounting fixture/methodology to work for individual dry boxes.

Mounts and fixtures intended to be glued to individual cereal box dry boxes.

Features

  • Requires glue to be mounted to surface. Intended to be glued to individual cereal box dry boxes.
  • Label any filament type, brand and color.
  • Labels securely slide into place.
  • The master tag file is included for text modification (Fusion 360 format .f3d).

Printing

  • Provided print profiles are recommended, with a 0.20mm layer height with 0.4mm nozzle.
  • Do not use supports.
  • I recommend printing one (1) label first. If the fit is too tight, scale up the X,Y, and Z dimension by 0.5%.
    • Do not scale up the Base Plate.

Attaching to Dry Box

  1. Slide the mounts into the gluing fixture. Make sure they are seated all the way into the slots. All mounts intended to be bonded must be done at the same time with this gluing fixture.
  2. Apply glue to the back of each label. I found hot glue worked pretty well to bond to the cereal box material without special surface preparation, as I didn't have much luck with CA glue.
  3. Use the fixture leg to place against the bottom of the cereal box to align the tag mounts correctly in the up and down axis.
  4. Press tag mounts against the side of the dry box and allow to adhere, carefully centering on the side wall.
  5. Give the glue time to fully dry while maintaining pressure.
  6. Carefully slide the fixture off of the tags, being careful not to pull the mounts off of the dry box.

Notes:

  • Two tooling fixtures provided, one for right side up mounting and one for upside down mounting (if staggering orientation like shown in the images).
  • If the mounts are too tight, recommend sliding them in and out to loosen up the fit for removal after gluing.
  • The right amount of glue and the pressure to apply make take a bit of trial and error.

Creating a Custom Label

  • “Tag Master File.f3d” included if you want to edit the text in Fusion 360.
  • Other software's I recommend using br1acc's original tag step file. The font used is “Arial Rounded MT Bold”.

Labels Included

  • Currently included are filament manufacturers, materials, and colors listed below.
  • If you are in need of any additional tags, create them via the Tag master file, or send me a message and I'll see if I can update the files.
