Steam Locomotive 556.0 ČSD "Štokr" H0

Locomotives of the 556.0 series are a type of steam locomotives for heavy freight transport, produced in Pilsen Škoda (at the time of production under the name of the V.I. Lenin Works) in the years 1951–1958 in a total number of 510 units and known by the nickname "štokr". Thanks to this, they are the most perfect freight locomotives of Czechoslovak provenance and also the most numerous type of steam locomotives in the country. The locomotives were intended for the heaviest freight trains on the main lines across Czechoslovakia. Towards the end of the operation, they were also used for less significant performances on secondary lines, where they served until the complete end of steam operation in 1981.
