Description
I was playing around with ideas on how to make a hanging “planter” for my air plants, and came up with this after seeing a random suncatcher. You can get various looks by using different surface patterns or build plates. In the two color prints, the first layer is a clear layer. I've printed mine in PETG so they stand up better when I go to mist them.
Use 0.2mm layer height. You may need to use a pin or needle to open up the holes.
To build the planter after printing:
The face that was on the build plate is the outward facing side. Bend at the thin areas. Use the adhesive you prefer for the filament used to glue the edges of the flaps to the main body to form the cup. Use fishing line (I used a cheap 4 lb line) or “invisible” sewing thread to hang it. I doubled up the line and attached it like luggage tags are attached to suitcases (see photo).
