Description
Designed for the outdoors, the Battery Puck holds:
2 CR123A
2 CR2032
2 CR1632
4 AA
7 AAA
It's a sturdy design with a twist-lock lid and a lip for an o-ring that will upgrade it to about IP64 rating in water resistance. I developed mine specifically for my range bag, an all-in-one weather resistant container with all of the batteries I have in my equipment. Perfect for camping, hunting, the range bag, the go-bag, the work bag, the truck, you name it.
No supports or tools needed. Print all three items, press the insert into the body and add an o-ring if you choose. I personally print mine in PETG just so it's a bit more temperature resistant. Don't know how long it may set in the truck. But PLA works great for most applications and I've been very happy with the design.
UPDATE 5/20/2025: Added the Blend file so easy tweaks can be made. Everything currently has it's subdivision modifiers applied and etc. Just re-export the model, most likely the insert, with the desired changes and be sure to check “Export Selected” when doing so or you will export the entire model.
UPDATE 6/5/2025: New, updated version of the Battery Puck has been released, here:https://makerworld.com/en/models/1489139-battery-puck-2-0#profileId-1556217.
This version prints in 2 pieces, is a half inch smaller in diameter and trades 2AA slots for a 9v slot.
UPDATE 6/15/2025: For the guys that can print TPU or want a thinner form factor, I have the flatpack out now. Available here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1519409-watertight-battery-flatpack#profileId-1592106
