Fully Printable Lighter Fidget!

This is my fully printable lighter fidget toy! I was inspired to create this by the smooth action of flip-open Zippo lighters. The lighter is easy to assemble and features a print-in-place working hinge and a satisfying striker wheel that rotates. This design does not require an AMS, and the optional fire logo as well as the striker wheel can be printed separately.

 

Assembly:

 

Remove all supports completely and carefully. Be extra careful when removing the supports near the hinge. I recommend removing the hinge supports first in case it breaks, that way you don't waste your time. 

 

To attach the striker wheel, put the wheel in the slot on the top of the lighter and secure it with the pin and pin ring. If you find that the wheel falls out, you can add a touch of glue to the ring.

 

To attach the optional fire logo, simply push it in and press against a flat hard surface to make it flush if necessary.

 

Notes: 

 

If the hinge is fused and does not rotate, try a different filament. In my testing, the hinge did not work when printed with Elegoo red PLA.

 

The hinge may be tight at first, but will quickly loosen up from opening and closing it a few times.

 

Can be printed with tree supports for easier removal with a slightly rougher finish.
