Cigarette box with lift feature

I seen this model on Facebook once and thought that would be a brilliant project to 3d print, so i got to work designing the model, version after version i finally got a printed test part that is functional.

 

this was made for the normal size cigarette, the compartment where the cigarettes go is 88mm wide so it wont fit super kings or anything bigger than a normal cigarette, I have not tried roll-up cigarettes in this prototype so unsure if it will work with them, don't see why it wouldn't, if someone uses it for that purpose feel free to comment if it works. I kept it to a high layer height for less filament usage and it doesn't not need to be fine detailed anyway.

 

so feel free to download and impress some people with this amazing cigarette box with pop up feature., when assembled you just press the back of the box down the cigarette will roll down the box and rest on the perch with the semicircle cut out, the box then uses gravity to fall back down and the block inside then pushes the end of the cigarette down to raise the opposite end up.

 

when building the assembly I didn't need to use glue but you may want to use glue on the centre box to keep the pivot pins in place just done glue them to the main base, also depending on printer settings and calibration, the centre box may need slide side to side to find the correct position for it to be free enough that gravity can drop the box back down.
