Hotel / Motel door lock

This lock will prevent someone quietly letting themself into your hotel / motel room while you sleep / wash.

 

Simply insert the locking hook into the door catch and shut the door.

 

 

Now slide on the large jam nut followed by the locking nut and tighten until the Jam nut is flush to the door (do not over tighten)

PLEASE NOTE

This will not stop someone forcefully trying to enter.

Even though the hook has some strength to it, it'll not withstand someone trying to force the door open. (an all metal one might)

This device will prevent silent entry, the force needed to break the hook will generate enough noise that you and others should hear the intruder allowing the alarm to be raised.

 

 

This model was tested and printed in Sunlu PLA+ 2.0. Even though I have designed the model to have some tolerance to allow different filaments (and print settings) and the varied amounts of shrinkage we see, you may find parts to be either too snug or too loose.
