Gravity Hanger - Towel Hook/Hanger

This is a gravity hanger, it works by using a clever mechanism involving a marble. When pushed up, the marble slides out of the way allowing for a towel to be placed in the gap created, when let go the marble slides down against a ramp creating a pinch point to hold the towel in. This model works best with small hand towels but can hold medium sized light weight shower towels.

The marble used a standard game marble with a diameter of 17mm and can be commonly found in Walmart, the ones used will be posted below, the model will work with 16mm marbles but not as strong, there is also a cylinder model included to test the mechanism though it does not work as well as a marble/ball. An additional model was created to work with MakerLab's 14mm plastic balls. This model sticks to walls using adhesive 3M strips but I can upload models for any screw size if you want a more permanent solution, just send me a DM with a picture of your screw and dimensions of the head and threading and ill make the holes for you.

This model was inspired by a similar mechanism used by a wood worker to make a hanging system for papers and further inspired by an instagram post that showcased a similar towel hanger, but the mechanism and model was fully designed by myself with key improvements made over the mechanism design to allow more weight and a modern aesthetic.
