Description

Sewing needles are not only very pointed, they are also pretty small. Looking for a save container for these little bastards?

Here it is!

Easy to print, has three pockets for needles of different sizes and locks wenn closed. So no needle can fall out if you don't want so.

The box provides an end stop, so the inner part could not fall out of the outer part.

Due to the needle sketch at the top of the box it is easy to avoid to open the box upside down, also the direction of the needle sketch helps to remind you about the opening direction.

So sturdy and robust that it will even survive a mens household.

Printing instructions:

Printed in PLA, nozzle 0.6mm, infill 15% gyroid, layer height 0.25mm, but will print with a nozzle 0.4mm also.

Print both parts upright, this helps to reduce problems with the tight fit because dimensional errors of your printer are the same for both parts.

Use some helper discs to ramp up adhesion for the parts.

I found that rotating the parts at 45 degree minimises surface errors (at least on my printer).

Assembly instructions / Zusammenbau:

  1. Print the parts and remove the helper discs after printing.

  2. Arrange the parts like this:

  3. Put  the right part into the left one by tilting both parts and using a bit of force

  4. Slide the parts together until you hear a little click

  5. Open the box by moving the inner part in the direction of the needles

Great as a gift or for yourself!

Happy printing.
