Board Game Token Generator

Purpose

The "Board Game Token Generator" is designed to replace traditional cardboard tokens commonly used in board games with durable, 3D-printed alternatives. These tokens are more resilient and customizable, allowing for better preservation and smoother gameplay experiences.

Example Models

To demonstrate the versatility of this generator, we’ve created sample tokens for three popular board games:

1. The Resistance: Avalon – Tokens for voting and tracking round progress.
2. 7 Wonders – Tokens representing victory points, defeat markers, and money.
3. Bang! – Tokens for tracking player health points.

These pre-configured token models are available for free download, allowing you to 3D-print tokens for these classic games right away. You can also modify them to suit your specific game needs or preferences.

OpenSCAD Parameter Descriptions:

The model is fully customizable using OpenSCAD. Below is an explanation of the adjustable parameters:

[Base Shape]

• sides: Number of polygon sides for the token (3-12). This controls the basic shape (e.g., triangular, square, pentagonal).
• radius: Radius of the token, which adjusts the overall size.
• y_deform: Deformation along the y-axis, useful for creating a flatter or stretched appearance.
• rotate_angle: Rotates the token to adjust its orientation.
• thickness: Thickness of the token, controlling its height.
• edge_height: Height of the raised edge surrounding the token.
• edge_ratio: Proportion of the raised edge compared to the overall token size.

[Text and Symbols]

• text1: First line of text or symbols (e.g., "⚔️").
• text1_font: Font used for the first line of text (OpenSCAD-supported fonts).
• text1_size: Size of the first line of text.
• text1_y_offset / text1_x_offset: Fine-tune the vertical and horizontal position of the text.
• text1_offset: Smoothness of the text's edge.
• enable_text2: Enables or disables a second line of text.
• text2, text2_font, text2_size, text2_y_offset, text2_x_offset, text2_offset: Parameters for the second line of text, similar to the first line.
• text_spacing: Controls the spacing between the two lines of text.

These parameters give you the flexibility to create tokens that meet your specific requirements, from simple shapes to complex, highly customized designs.
