Indefinitely modular Photo box - slide-in-place

Decided to release my design attempt at a indefinitely expandable modular Photobox with interchangeable panels. Idea was inspired by Photobox xl format. However I wanted a solution that was indefinitely expandable without the visible click connectors at the base and a solution that was ready for use straight after print - no glue needed. My solution was sliding connectors for a smooth transition and slide-in-place plates.

Total size of the plate is 250mm x 250mm x 10mm including sliding connectors. Plate without the sliding connector is 248.512mm. Input from the community on improvements to the design is more than welcome.

The tolerences are quite tight. This gives a solid box, but in my honest opinion a little too tight to assemble easily. Ideas for a better slide&lock functionality is highly wanted. Specifications on the sliding mechanism below:
