Sim Racing Phone Dashboard - Case - Samsung Note 8

This is a case for a Samsung Note 8, what should make it look more like a Racing Dashboard rather than a phone.

Why? I was looking for a dashboard on the internet, either to buy it or DIY it, and the $100+ price tag threw me off. I have this phone lying around, so I had to put it to good use.

 

Important note #1, the dimensions of the gap for the phone are 163 mm × 75 mm × 9 mm. The good thing is that the phones nowadays are similar in dimensions, so you should be able to get away with resizing. Just make sure that you don't do the exact dimensions that you find on the internet, you can input a tiny bit more. Example: The heights of the Note 8 is 162.5, but I made the gap 163.

Important note #2, there are no gaps for the side buttons, only for the charger, as I am planning on permanently keeping the phone unlocked and connected to power.

Important note #3, the lid was designed to cover the top and bottom bezels for the Note 8, which are pretty thick.

 

The screws gaps are 4mm, so I used 8mm M4 screws to keep everything in place. You should be good to go even after resizing.

 

The dashboard was created using SimHub and Dash Studio. There are a lot of tutorials on the internet, but if you need extra help, drop me a message. If you need the overlay only for the lap timers, again, drop me a message.

The trick to keep it always unlocked is that there is an Idle screen, so the timer itself only shows when you boot up a game.

 

The mounting part is up to you.
