Description

We needed some new planter pots and there was a space themed contest going on. So I said why not?

I present to you my Asteroid themed Flower/Planter Pots.

  • Modelled to look like craters are covering the surface
  • Irregular but nearly spherical shape of natural interstellar stone
  • Fuzzy edges utilized to give a natural rough stone appearance
  • No supports required

If a space theme is what you're going for in your interstellar garden, or if you just want planter pots that look like natural stone then here you go!

My print profile has all pots on a single plate, and also all pots on their own plate. So you can easily print it from the app any way you like.

Notes:

  • I tried to keep the walls thick enough to be water tight but also thin enough not to waste too much filament. If your printer and filament profiles are calibrated properly it should be water tight. I would recommend water testing to be sure.
    • If you do have issues with it holding water, don't throw it out. Some spray adhesive from your local hardware store on the inside would be more than enough. It's a great way to finish sealing thin-walled prints or to fix small printer errors.
  • If you will be placing the pot on a plate or other water catching platform you can quite easily drill holes in the bottom as desired. I left them out since it's so easy to drill through plastic and not everyone will want them.
  • The image that shows plants in the pots are edited for demonstration. I just printed these and haven't had time to let real plants grow in them yet ;)
  • Small easter egg, did you notice? I ran out of grey filament part way though a pot and had to switch to a different brand. The color is close but the top part of one doesn't match.

Feel free to follow me if you like practical prints, they are what I focus on.

I hope you enjoy!
