Description
Print your own standard 6-sided dice! I designed these with hollow centers to minimize filament used while still having a decent amount of weight. It should be printed with solid infill to reduce the impact of uneven infill favoring certain faces.
** Make sure you calibrate your filament! **
The pips are placed on the plate with the same spacing as how they should be inserted. The pips are slightly tapered with the narrow side facing up on the plate. The intention is for you to press the die into the pips to insert them. If you remove the pips it will be a lot more difficult to do. The pips have very tight tolerances so make sure thoroughly dry and calibrate your filament or the pips will not fit. To get the pips snug and flush with the surface of the die, you can gently tap with a hammer.
If you have a lot of trouble (I had trouble with the 6 face with one color) you can place the build plate on a solid surface and gently tap with a hammer to press the die around the pips.
Line up the holes with the pips | Press down firmly |
Give it a little wiggle and the pips should release |
Pay attention to how flush the pips are pressed into the die. If you haven't tapped the pips in with a hammer it will add roundness to that side and bias against landing on it.
You can store these dice in matching dice boxes!
