Updated - now supporting Airpods 4 (ANC version) and Airpods Pro 2 with/without case

A holder for Airpods Pro 2 (with/without case) or Airpods 4 (ANC version).

Fits the Model 3 with the new center console charging pads and places the Airpods in the right spot to be charged wirelessly.

In addition, there is an extra slot to just store the Airpods without charging them. This adds a few grams of filament to the print, but also gives the holder better stability on the charging pad.

I also added two cutouts to hold some coins. Coin diameter needs to be below 27 mm (2 EUR coins fit nicely). I found it quite handy to have that for different purposes (car wash, drive-in, …).

Compatibility

  • Tested with Model 3 2021 with new center console (no cover over the charging pads)

  • Airpods Pro 2 without case
  • Airpods Pro 2 with case - dimensions with case 63mm x 48mm (plus 0,2mm play) - please check with your own case before printing
  • Airpods 4 ("Active Noise Cancellation" version only)

  • Tested with 2 EUR coins
  • NOT tested in other cars, like Model Y/S/X, Model 3 Highland
  • Does not work with older Model 3 (with cover over charging pads)

Printing

  • Due to potentially higher temperatures in vehicles (especially during summer or in certain areas) it is recommended to use a filament which can withstand such higher temps, like PETG.
  • Tested myself with a PLA print, which is also fine for colder weather but wouldn’t use it during the warmer/hot period of the year.
  • Please do your own research, which filament might fit your use.
  • No supports needed.
  • For nice top surfaces, I like to turn „Ironing“ on, but this depends on your personal preference. Turning it off saves around 15 minutes of print time.
  • Print time around 1h 15 min (with “Ironing on”), using around 40g of filament.
  • The different versions are distributed on 3 different plates - please choose the right one for your purpose based on the name.
