UPDATE V2:

Uploaded Print Profiles for Version 2 with reduced overhangs. I used colorfabb Allpha whicht doesn't like them so much, newer version prints better with it. I tried putting the bowl in boiling water, no problems, so Allpha is dishwashersafe :)

When I had the idea to re-create the bowl for my Surefeed chip feeder, I quickly realized I wasn't the first :)

There are some available here, on Thingiverse, and on Etsy, of course.

Many of the shops that sell those, and some of them are not as inexpensive as one might wish, are just printing these in plain PLA.. While PLA is food-safe, there are some precautions you should take when using these bowls for feeding a pet. Sadly, many shops don't warn you about those, but as a pet owner, you should know that:

  1. Your printer should be equipped with a hardened steel nozzle.
  2. If you print in PLA, it’s not dishwasher-safe, and the small gaps in the print are a perfect place for bacteria to grow. To prevent this, apply some food-grade resin (to close the gaps, they are still not dishwasher safe, i heard from a friend :) ) on the whole bowl and lids or use food-safe and dishwasher-safe materials like NonOilen, Extrudr GreenTEC Pro or colorfabb Allpha. These materials can withstand hot cooking water.

Here’s a general guide to food-safe 3D printing. Please don’t just print and use; your pet will thank you. :)

If you're not interested in using these for feeding your pet, they can be reused. My first versions live their second life as screw collectors in my workshop.
