Description
Simple bag clip with no moving parts to wear. Doesn't rely on spring tension to hold a bag closed. Keeps your bags well sealed, locking oxygen out.
Inspired by some old travel peanut butter and jelly tubes we used for camping when I was a kid.
This model should be relatively easy to print. I've had good luck printing it both on its side, and vertically, although for the longer clips you start to get some issues as the inner rod picks up vibrations from the print head.
When printed, you need to screw the rod into the clip assembly; the tolerances should work well enough that they hold the clip in rather tightly. If its loose, a drop of superglue on the threads should lock it in for good. Dimensional accuracy isn't terribly important, provided you print both parts on the same printer, they should mesh well enough.
I printed mine in PETG, so it has a tiny bit more flexibility.
For larger or smaller clips, this tends to scale well. Just ensure that the rod is slightly longer than the tube, to provide a guidance for sealing a new chip bag
