Hyrule Castle Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 dock

A Nintendo Switch Dock Shaped Like Hyrule Castle with Illuminated Windows!

If you've seen my collection of models, you already know I'm a huge fan of The Legend of Zelda! So, when I saw the Castle contest, I immediately thought of designing Hyrule Castle. Then I had the idea to make it practical, not just a decorative light-up piece. And that's how I came up with this design: a Hyrule Castle-shaped Switch dock!

• 2025-06-07: Switch 2 print profile has been tested and working, and available in the print profiles!
• 2025-06-06: Got my hands on the Switch 2 — the design is finalized and currently printing for further testing before upload! I'll upadte this week!

  • Ive pre-ordered the Switch2, as soon as I get my hands on it I'll also make a print profile for it!

• 2025-01-25: According to some users, the OLED version might not fit. I am currently looking for someone with an OLED Switch to test it; and will release a print profile accordingly as soon as possible.

Assembly

*If you're upgrading from the Original or OLED model to Switch 2, you DONT have to reprint the whole thing — just the base and the door!

1. Attach the three "Spikes" to the tops of the castle towers (3 screws).

2. Stick the LEDs onto the "Back" piece. There are window outlines on it to guide LED placement. Just be careful not to bend the LED strips too much, and trim any excess.

3. Slide the "Back" piece onto the back of the "Castle."

4. Switch 2 model only: Insert the “Door” in the “Base”, glue can help hold it in place

5. Thread the wire through one of the openings (the only opening for Switch 2 midel) on the underside of the "Base" piece, then attach the "Base" piece to the "Castle" (4 screws).

6. Plug the wire into the back of the original dock, close its door, and insert the original dock into the Hyrule Castle dock.

Hardware needed:

-USB led strip

-7 x 6mm long m3 screws

Tips/Settings

*All the settings are already configured in my profile.

- Removing Tower Supports: Use long-nose pliers to remove supports from the towers (twist and pull).

- Support interface: For the "Castle" plate, set the support interface to 90° to avoid long parallel support walls with the model (I had failed supports on my tests prints using the default orientation).

- Prime Tower: I recommend using a good brim for the prime tower since it's relatively tall.

- Light bleeding: 100% infill (or just 9999 walls) for all the doors to prevent light bleeding.
